Pride through art

I began writing poetry soon after the first heartbreak of my life. I discovered that poetry made me proud and it eased the pain. So, i expanded that discovery into a theory. Part of being content with life is self improvement and production of things that instil pride in oneself. It may be different for everyone, whether it be taking up a sport or building model airplanes.  Find your creative way to vent.

Each smile,

Last’s but a while,

Tis, fraudulence,

Hiding abhorrence,

Life in exile.

During the greys,

of the passing days,

I engage the rage,

reverse the curse,

and turn the page.

With vicious tenacity,

I struggle through the tragedies,

of what’s come to pass,

Will it last? I ponder…

Take a breath, adapt mentality drastically,

battling…

Conjuring superior mastery,

and overcoming adversity.

Come again, and challenge me.

A Day's Challenge

RISE

Mind twisting and turning, burning and yearning...for the opportunity to be learning to make a unity with this new beauty.

Dark bounding and surrounding, shrouding and crowding...Escape toward the lights is where i set my sights.

One step, impending descending, falling and crawling...lost and alone, with only confusion to roam.

Think replace and retrace, path to that face i’ve chased...Failed, nailed and jailed...here i sit alone in this shit.

Mind shattered, torn and tattered...no answers, no options conscious to these losses.

Disheartened capitulate and reintegrate, fractions of former actions...Rejuvenate and recuperate.

Enough cries, rise to the skies for new highs...seek the light before it dies.

Chasing the dragon

Incredible highs.

Maddening lows.

Love and heartbreak,

and Karmas devastating blows.

No matter, they always feel close.

Familiar and safe.

No matter how good things are,

We’re always chasing the dragon.

One more big break.

One more lustful kiss.

Another high speed race.

Nothing ever compares though,

To that playful night in the snow.

It’s never going to be the same.

Phoenix

Betrayed by your word, maybe you can’t see my worth. Fine. You won’t bear witness to my rebirth. Have you to offer, nothing but hurt?

Have i not, trudged through mud? Have i not shed blood? Not enough, i suppose, to earn your love.

No worries though, So much more, i have to show. More to read, more to know. The world can bear witness to my evolutionary growth.

Like a phoenix, from the ashes i will arise. The fire in my eyes, never dies. These trials are the wings that propel me to the skies.

I know my worth. Intend, i do, to unearth the turf to get what i want. I’m coming for all that i deserve.

The Man in the Mirror

The man in the mirror pleads
Do your daily deeds
Do them until it bleeds

I looked away.

The monster in the mirror screamed
Silent tears reflect fears so extreme
This can’t be real, must be a dream

I’m on my knees

The monster in the mirror maligns
Reflection unaligned
Undefined designs defy

I’m on my feet

Shattered shards of sharp glass
Reflective reality of the past
Broken and buried in the trash

I’m sprinting

Dreams and desires in detail
Fully focused, obstacles countervail’d
Paid the price for power to prevail

I am
What I am
and damned
If I won’t become
More than I am

...More than a man.

Enchantress

Obstinate in my quest

defying iniquity with every breath

There will be no recess

until i am completely unlike the rest.

For that is the way to eminence

Through benevolence

I’ll achieve reverence

and earn the honor

to captivate the enchantress
